In addition to the advantages of polyester, PBT fiber also has better dyeing performance, and has become one of the differentiated fibers with promising development in the field of synthetic fiber. In addition, it also has better aging resistance, chemical reaction resistance and heat resistance, so that it is widely used in engineering plastics, home appliance shell and other fields. The emergence of these two new polyester fibers has not only broken the dominant situation of polyester fibers, but may even replace it within a certain range.
With the advent of PTT fiber and PBT fiber, polyester is no longer the exclusive domain of polyester. However, in practical detection, because these three fibers are difficult to be distinguished by ordinary methods, in theory, they can be identified by combining infrared spectroscopy and melting point method, but the identification process is also difficult. Therefore, according to the standard GB/T 4146.1-2009, the "polyester fiber" report will be issued under normal circumstances, and only when the client clearly requires, and the sample can be determined to be "polyethylene terephthalate (PET)", the testing agency can be identified as "polyester".

Advantages and disadvantages of polyester:
1. High strength. Short fiber strength is 2.6-5.7cN/dtex, and high strength fiber strength is 5.6-8.0cN/dtex.
2. Good elasticity. Elastic close to wool, when elongation 5 ~ 6%, almost full recovery. Wrinkle resistance over other fibers, that is, the fabric does not wrinkle, good dimensional stability.
3. Heat resistance. Polyester has a high melting point and is the best of synthetic fabrics for heat resistance.
4. Good thermoplastic, poor fusible resistance. With thermoplastic, pleated skirt pleats can last long, but the fusible resistance is poor, easy to form holes in the face of soot, Mars and so on. Avoid contact with cigarette butts, sparks, etc.
5. Good wear resistance. Second only to nylon in synthetic fibers.
6. Good light resistance. Acrylic fiber is second only to synthetic fibers.
7. Corrosion resistance. Resistant to bleaching agents, oxidants, hydrocarbons, ketones, petroleum products and inorganic acids. Resistant to dilute alkali, not afraid of mildew, but hot alkali can make it decomposition. There are strong acid and alkali resistance, anti-ultraviolet ability.
8. Good color fastness, not easy to fade.
9. Poor moisture absorption, hot feeling, easy to wear static electricity, easy to stain dust, easy to pilling.
10. Good quick drying, good washing and wearing performance.
Polyester type:
1. Polyester imitation silk fabric, which is made of round and special-section polyester filament or short fiber yarn with the appearance style of real silk, has the advantages of anti-wrinkle and ironing, and is quite popular among consumers. These varieties have the elegant draping, smooth, soft and pleasing to the eye of silk fabric. At the same time, they also have the crisp, wear-resistant, easy to wash and non-hot of polyester fabric. At the same time, the price is low.
2, polyester wool-like fabric from polyester filament as polyester stretch yarn, polyester network or various profiled polyester yarns as raw materials, or with long long polyester staple fiber and viscose after long acrylic blended yarn or fabric woven with wool style, respectively called worsted wool-like fabric and long wool-like fabric, the price is lower than the same kind of wool fabric products. It not only has the characteristics of full and fluffy feel and good elasticity of woolen fabric, but also has the characteristics of polyester firm and durable, easy to wash and dry, smooth and crisp, not easy to deformation, not easy to pilling and so on.
3, polyester imitation linen fabric, polyester or polyester/viscose strong twist yarn woven into plain or convex stripe fabric, with dry feel and appearance style of linen fabric. 4.
